n some operating systems (e.g. Windows 95) without WinSock2 support, Rising Personal Firewall cannot be installed. WinSock2 must be installed manually:

For Retail box user:
1.Open the Rising CD using Windows Explorer.
2.In the Tools directory, double-click WinSock2.exe to install.

For download version user:

winsock2 (Size 0.9 Mb) Last updated: August 15, 1997.

Download the file winsock2.exe, above.
Put winsock2.exe in a temporary directory.
Change to that directory and install winsock2 by double-clicking the winsock2.exe icon
Follow the setup instructions in the setup window
NOTE: is winsock2 has already been installed the installation script will end with an error message.
